About the region
The Trois Vallees, France is the largest skiing area of the world. The ski lifts and slopes are the only connections that exist between the various parts of the region. The ski slopes of the region are 410 miles long and the total groomed runs cover an area of 18.5 kilometer square. Courchevel
Courchevel forms an integral part of the region of Trois Vallees, France. It is the largest linked ski region of the world. The beginning of the resort can be traced back to the post 2nd World War period of time. The resort was the result of the joint planning of the Viche regime and the Laurent Chappis, the famous town planner. Unlike most of the other ski resorts in France, the Courchevel resort was not developed from an existing village and was formed out of virtual nothingness.
La Tania
La Tania is another resort located in the Courchevel region of Trois Vallees, France. It is situated at an altitude of 1400 meters above sea level. The resort was developed for the Albertville Olympics of 1992. It takes just about 25 minutes of driving time to reach the place from Moutiers. Meribel
The Meribel region of Trois Vallees, France is also quite popular as a ski resort. It is located near the town of Moutiers.
